This tutorial was written January 30, 2012 and I used Corel X3, but it should work in other versions as well. The supplies you need: A tube of choice. I used a gorgeous tube from Keith Garvey. He was with PTE at the time this tutorial was written. You also need a scrap kit. I used a kit from Creationz by Sharon called Dark Angel. In my second example at the bottom, I used a limited edition exclusive from Roman Zaric, that will be available at PTE from February 1st. Snags can be found HERE.I used a birthday kit called "PTE Anniversary" from TLP Designz, which can be purchased at PTE from February 1st. Plugins/filters used: Eye Candy 5 - Inpact - Perspective Shadow A font of choice. I used "Amethyst_script" Open a new image 600X250 Copy and paste a paper of choice. Add your tube and place it on the right side of your canvas. Add a blurry drop shadow. I used Eye Candy 5 - Impact - Perspective Shadow with the blurry preset. Set your foreground to white and chose the Rectangle Tool, with these settings: Draw out a rectangle and convert to raster. Draw out antoher rectangle in a different size and convert to raster. See my sample for placement. Duplicate the small rectangle 2 times and place where you like. Paste a close up of your tube and place it under the big rectangle, and paste a paper underneath the close up layer. With your magic wand active, click inside the big rectangle. Expand Selection by 5 - Invert Selection. Go to the tube layer and click delete. Do the same for the paper layer. Deselect. Change the layer option of the tube to Hard Light, or another suitable option, and set the opacity to about 50%. Repeat the process with the small rectangles, but use different papers from the scrap kit instead OR other parts of your tube. See my tag for reference. Once you have done this, add a drop shadow to all the rectangle layers, with tese settings: Now you can add any embelishments you want, if you want any. Once you're done with this, add a new layer and floodfill with white. Make sure this layer is the top layer. Select All, Contract Selection by 4 and click Delete. Deselect. Add this drop shadow to it: Crop your creation with Merge Opaque. And your name. Add the same drop shadow as earlier (2,2,60,8, Black) Don't forget to use a pixel font and add your license and copyright. Save as jpg. AVATAR: Hold Shift and press D to duplicate the tag. Delete the tube layers and any other layer you don't need. Crop to 150x150 Add a 4 px selection border like you did earlier. Don't forget to add the same drop shadow as well. Add your initial. Also, add the same drop shadow as you used earlier. Save as jpg. Here is another sample using Roman Zaric and a new kit from TLP Designz: Thanks for looking :)
