This tutorial was written February 29, 2012. I used Corel X3, but it should work in other versions as well. The supplies you need: A tube of choice. I used a tube called Explosion from RB White. He was with PTE at the time of writing this tutorial, and this tube will be/was released on March 1st. Plugins: VM Experimental - Needles and Pins Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective Shadow (Optional) Font of choice. I used "Gunplay" Open a new image 650x250.Make a gradient with 2 contrasting colors from your tube, with these settings: and floodfill your layer. Duplicat this layer. Mirror the bottom layer and on the duplicate, add VM Experimental with Needles and Pins. These are the settings I used, but you are free to experiment: Go to Effect - Edge Effect- Enhance. Lower the opacity to about 50%.
Duplicate this layer and rotate it 90% to the right. Move this layer to the right side of the tag. Add a new layer and draw a rectangle from top to bottom. Convert to raster and duplicate. Move the rectangles a bit so they are side by side. See my tag for reference. Merge down. Still on the rectangle layer, select all, float and defloat. Hide this layer so you see what you do. Go to the bottom needles and pins layer and hit delete. Move this layer one up. Go to the bottom needles and pins layer (the one you rotated) and promote selection to layer. Deselect. Activate your top layer and add a close up of your tube and place on left side. Change the layer properties of the close up to Screen or one to your liking. Add your tube and add a blurry drop shadow (I used Eye Candy 5 - Perspective Shadow with the blurry preset).Crop your tag.Add a new layer and floodfill with black. Select All and contract selection by 1. Delete and deselect. Add your name and copyright. Save as jpg. AVATAR Duplicate your tag and remove all the layers except bottom layer and all the needles and pins layers. Crop your tag to 150x150 px. Add a new layer and floodfill with black. Select all and contract the selection by 1. Hit detele and deselect. Add your initial and save as jpg. I also made a few snags which you can find HEREhttps://1drv.ms/f/s!AqEDBKVQMiMciSwL4wmHMDxhm6GC. Thanks for looking!
